Come Over To My House - BOM 2009
Block 7 - Lydia's House

Share a Photo of your Block | View Block 7 Photos

I'm posting Block 7 early this month because I will be on vacation on the 15th. I figured you all would rather get it early than late! Block 5 will be available for free until about July 20th, when I get back from vacation.

Block 7 is "Lydia's House". It reminds me of my grandmother Lydia's house in Texas. I had a lot of fun with my block, using a yellow fabric with lollipops on it:

To match our color scheme for block 7, you'll need gold or yellow scraps for house, dark brown fabric for the roof and door, black scraps and white or cream scraps for the windowns along with your sky/background fabric.

This pattern is no longer available free, but you can purchase it for $1.00 on my Patterns Page.

Remember that there is a series of video tutorials to help you with your roof triangles:

As usual, do not photocopy or email the PDF files to a friend. I want to you share my BOM pattern with any one who wants it, but please direct them to this web page and they can join right in. Block 7 will be available for free for a little over 2 months, until September 15th.

When you've finished your 7th block, don't forget to post a photo of your block. Here is the form to submit your photos for your cottage and dog house block. Check the bottom of this page to see other quilters' block 7 photos.

These are really fun to sew! I'm looking forward to putting them all together.

Anne's White House  starstarstarstarstar
I wanted my town to have a white house - it only looks striped because of the black design wall and the woven pattern in the white fabric tone-on-tone....

Flowery house  starstarstarstarstar
Construction on the house went very smoothly. I am enjoying building my neighborhood!

Lis's block 7   starstarstarstarstar
Thought the house a little pale , so added a little green at the top window and just a little over the door.

Regards
Lis ,Portugal

my swedish house  starstarstarstarstar
This time my house is red, typically swedish house.
Think the roof should have been more darker, but it must be the light grey for this time.

Marie's Block 7  starstarstarstarstar
I needed another lighter one to go with the reds and greens.

Pauline Esther's House Block 7  starstarstarstarstar
A nice surprise to get this one a little earlier. My sturdy red brick house - although I am not so happy with my roof (I re-drew it for foundation piecing)...

Esther´s house  starstarstarstarstar
This time I chosee a fabric with dots inspired by the house with candies
My regards to all Esther Denmark

Sharon's Block #7  starstarstarstarstar
I tried to make this little block look like a Stucco style house. I used the paperpiecing method for the lower portions of the house because of the smaller ...
