Joanna's Quilt Photos - Current Projects

This quilt was commissioned by our professional dog trainer. It is a queen/full size quilt that I made from her "retired" work polo shirts. The idea for this design came from the book "Beyond the Block" by the Crafty Ol' Broads.

Of course our trainer's biggest fans had to get in one photo. Notice that little Arlo managed to get on the bed and is wishing he had brought his hedgehog toy with him. Shelby, the yellow lab, is looking like she is just way too old and dignified for this craziness.

This is a heavy quilt and will be quite warm. It is made with medium weight 100% cotton polo-shirts which were fused to the lightest fusible interfacing I could find to give them some stability. The backing is a light weight denim, as requested by the customer and the batting is a organic cotton/bamboo blend. It is heavy, soft and cozy and honors my commitment to green quilting. What a great use of old business shirts!
